Alexander McQueen Spring-Summer 1997 ‘La Poupee’ important white damask linen trouser suit. Cropped jacket with long gothic sleeves which hang below the elbow. Delicate single hook fastening. The trousers are low cut with zips on both sides at the ankle.
This exact look was shown on the runway, the jacket was also shown in black and green. The same jacket in matte black fabric is held by the MET and was shown in the Savage Beauty exhibition.
The set is in very good condition. There is little to no discolouration on the exterior of the fabric, some discolouration on the lining.
Jacket tagged size 40, trousers tagged size 40.
